This workshop provides an oversight of how hospitals operate along with their staff roles and responsibilities. Learn clinic and E.R. frequently asked questions and practice interpreting them. Throughout this workshop, the medical interpreters’ thought process will be analyzed in order to learn how to prevent common mistakes. By the end of the workshop, you'll have the secrets to better understand the medical world.

Do you often find yourself stumped when doctors throw out big, fancy medical terminology while you are interpreting for a Deaf patient? Have no fear! At this workshop learn common medical terms, procedures, tests, and health conditions. Develop strategies to analyze the meaning of each word, expand on it and “paint the picture.” This workshop is for anyone looking to gain confidence in medical interpreting.

Lunch on your own. No voice interpreting. Up to 1.4 CEUs will be provided.
