Date: Tuesdays, starting April 2nd
Event: Beginning ASL Conversation
Where: Columbia College Chicago, 33 E. Congress Parkway, Chicago, IL - 4th Floor
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Description: This six-week workshop concentrates on development of conversational fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). Participants learn to accurately recognize and produce signs in ASL with appropriate non-manual behaviors and grammatical features. Workshop is a basic introduction to ASL, and participants develop expressive and receptive ASL skills through discussions of topics such as personal information, surroundings, residences, families and activities. This workshop meets once a week and lasts for two hours. Our Deaf faculty will teach the workshop.
Cost: $110.00

Event: Intermediate ASL Conversation
Where: Columbia College Chicago, 33 E. Congress Parkway, Chicago, IL - 4th Floor
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Description: This continuing six-week workshop concentrates on development of conversational fluency in American Sign Language (ASL). Participants learn to accurately recognize and produce signs in ASL with appropriate non-manual behaviors and grammatical features. Workshop is a basic introduction to ASL, and participants develop expressive and receptive ASL skills through discussions of topics such as vocabulary, grammar, history, fingerspelling, numbers, terminology, occupations and Deaf Culture norms. This workshop meets once a week and lasts for two hours. Our Deaf faculty will teach the workshop. Pre-requisite: Beginning American Sign Language Conversational Workshop

Event: Advanced ASL Conversation
Where: Columbia College Chicago, 33 E. Congress Parkway, Chicago, IL - 4th Floor
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Description: This workshop focuses on intermediate development of conversational fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and includes further training in receptive and expressive skills, fingerspelling, vocabulary building and grammatical structures.  Topics introduced using ASL include giving directions, describing physical characteristics, making requests, discussion of occupations, daily routines and attributing qualities to individuals. Pre-requisite: Intermediate American Sign Language Conversational Workshop
Cost: $110.00

Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Description: 8-week classs. To register, you can either pay online (contact Michelle for further instructions) or come to CHS and pay in person.

Event: American Sign language (ASL) Level 1 Class
Where: Chicago, IL - Northside
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Description: 5-week class. I recommend all students begin at Level 1, regardless of whether they know some sign language or not. This is because Level 1 establishes the necessary foundation for the next Levels 2 & 3. Also when you register for my ASL Classes below, I will send you detailed information about what to expect in my class and the payment information. I urge you to pay ASAP to secure your seat to have a peace of mind. Looking forward to have you in my class, having Fun learning ASL!
